23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Blend of Old and New: A Barge Lighter Amidst the Docklands Development, London, England (1989) 2.. This evocative photograph, taken in 1989, captures the essence of London's Docklands area during the transformative 1980s. The image showcases the juxtaposition of the old and the new, as a once-used barge lighter sits quietly in a former dock, surrounded by the bustling Docklands Development. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) bridge looms overhead, a symbol of modern progress and urban regeneration. The Docklands area, located in the east of London, was once a thriving hub for trade and commerce, with its docks handling cargo from around the world. However, by the late 1980s, the area had fallen into disrepair, and the British government initiated a large-scale regeneration project to revitalize the area. In this photograph, we see a barge lighter, a type of vessel used to transfer cargo between ships and the quayside, moored in a now-abandoned dock. The image is a poignant reminder of the area's rich maritime history. The DLR bridge, which opened in 1987, is a testament to the ambitious redevelopment efforts underway. The modern office blocks and cranes in the background indicate the scale of the construction work taking place. This photograph, taken by acclaimed photographer Philip Dunn, offers a unique perspective on the Docklands Development in London during the 1980s. It encapsulates the sense of change and progress that characterized the era, as the city moved from its industrial past towards a more modern and vibrant future.
