23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Basking in the grandeur of Marseille's rich maritime history, this photograph transports us back in time to the Bassin de la Joliette, circa 1908. The bustling port city of Marseille, France, is a vibrant tapestry of activity, with the Mediterranean Sea serving as its lifeblood. In this evocative image, we see a panoramic view of the Bassin de la Joliette, a bustling harbor teeming with ships of all shapes and sizes. The quayside is a hive of activity, with carts laden with sacks being unloaded from the ships and transported to the cobblestone streets beyond. The quayside is a riot of colors, with the red-tiled roofs of the buildings contrasting beautifully with the blue waters of the harbor. The air is filled with the sounds of activity - the creaking of wooden planks underfoot, the clanging of ropes, the distant horns of ships, and the chatter of the sailors and dockworkers. The cobblestones, worn smooth by the passage of countless feet, bear testament to the centuries of trade and commerce that have passed through this historic port. In the foreground, a pair of tugs prepare to guide a large ship into the harbor, their powerful engines a reminder of the engineering marvels of the age. The sun casts a warm, golden glow over the scene, bathing the Bassin de la Joliette in a soft, ethereal light. This photograph is a stunning testament to the rich maritime heritage of Marseille, a city that has thrived on the shores of the Mediterranean for centuries. It is a reminder of a time when the world was connected by the sea, and the bustling ports of Marseille were the gateway to the wider world.
