31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Treaty of Versailles: A Fateful Moment in History (1919) This evocative political cartoon captures the tense atmosphere of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919, where the terms of the Treaty of Versailles were negotiated. The cartoon's title, "Equivalent to Sending Germany to the Guillotine," succinctly conveys the harsh and punitive nature of the agreement that followed the end of World War I. The three prominent figures in the print are President Woodrow Wilson of the United States, Georges Clemenceau of France, and David Lloyd George of the United Kingdom. Wilson, depicted in the center, is shown as a benevolent figure, attempting to hold back the more punitive forces represented by Clemenceau and Lloyd George. The French and British leaders, dressed in somber attire, are shown mercilessly pushing Germany towards the guillotine, symbolizing the severe penalties and humiliations inflicted upon the defeated nation. The Treaty of Versailles, signed on June 28, 1919, imposed heavy reparations on Germany, reduced its territory, and disarmed its military. The treaty is considered a significant turning point in German history and played a major role in setting the stage for the rise of Adolf Hitler and the beginning of World War II. This powerful cartoon serves as a poignant reminder of the far-reaching consequences of the Treaty of Versailles and the geopolitical landscape it helped shape.
