23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image, titled "Migration of Semites into Egypt," depicts a significant historical event that occurred around 1900 BC. The upper section of the print illustrates the Semitic people, represented by the figures in the foreground, embarking on their journey from their homeland in the Near East. The lower section of the print shows the Semites arriving in Egypt, where they are warmly welcomed by the native Egyptian population, symbolized by the figures in the background. The Semitic migration to Egypt is an important chapter in the history of both the Near East and Africa. This event marked the beginning of a new cultural and historical era, as the Semites brought with them their unique language, religion, and customs, which significantly influenced the development of Egyptian civilization. The exact reasons for this migration are still a subject of debate among historians, but it is believed that the Semites were driven by various factors, including environmental conditions, political instability, and the search for new opportunities. Regardless of the motivations behind their journey, the impact of the Semitic migration on the Egyptian civilization was profound and far-reaching. The intricate details in this print, with its elegant use of line and form, transport us back in time to witness this pivotal moment in history. The image invites us to reflect on the rich cultural exchanges that have shaped the world we live in today, and serves as a reminder of the enduring power of human migration in shaping our collective history.
