23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In the heart of London's West End, nestled among the bustling streets of Piccadilly, lies the historic Criterion Restaurant. This iconic establishment, a beacon of elegance and sophistication since its opening in 1873, has long been a favorite haunt for the city's elite and trendsetters. The 1920s, an era of jazz, flapper dresses, and daring new fashions, saw the Criterion reach new heights of popularity. This evocative photograph captures the allure of the Chinese Room, a unique and exotic dining area within the Criterion. The room, adorned with intricately painted murals and ornate Chinese lanterns, transports patrons to a far-off land of mystery and enchantment. The dimly lit space, filled with the soft glow of flickering candles and the gentle hum of conversation, creates an intimate and romantic atmosphere. The photograph, taken in the 1920s, showcases the room in its prime. Dapper gentlemen in crisp suits and stylish hats mingle with glamorous women in flapper dresses and feather headpieces. The air is thick with the intoxicating scent of exotic spices and the sound of lively jazz music, adding to the sense of excitement and adventure. The Chinese Room at the Criterion was a symbol of the decadence and glamour of London's 1920s nightlife scene. It was a place where people could escape the everyday and indulge in the pleasures of fine dining, lively entertainment, and the thrill of the unknown. This photograph serves as a captivating reminder of a bygone era, a time when the Criterion was at the forefront of London's social scene and the Chinese Room was the epitome of exotic allure.
