23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This studio portrait captures the strong bond of friendship between two women, both adorned in fashionable attire of the 1930s. Their dark, bobbed hair frames their faces, adding an air of modernity and sophistication. The women wear identical blouses, each featuring large collars and ties, creating a sense of unity and harmony between them. The high collars and ties were a popular fashion trend during this era, adding an elegant and refined touch to their outfits. The portrait exudes a sense of camaraderie and sisterhood, as the women gaze at each other with warm smiles. Their posture is confident and poised, reflecting the strength and resilience of women during this time. The photograph adds a timeless quality to the image, allowing us to appreciate the classic beauty of the women and the fashion of the era. The 1920s and 1930s were a transformative period for women's fashion, with a focus on independence and self-expression. The bobbed hairstyle, in particular, was a symbol of the newfound freedom and confidence of women during this time. This portrait captures the essence of that spirit, showcasing two women who are not only fashionable but also deeply connected to each other. The large collars and ties on their blouses were also a popular fashion trend during this era, adding an elegant and refined touch to their outfits. The high collars emphasized the neckline and added a sense of sophistication, while the ties added a playful and feminine touch. Overall, this portrait is a beautiful representation of female friendship and the fashion trends of the 1930s.
