23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image showcases a standing figure, believed to be Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor (1316-1378), holding the Golden Bull seals of his predecessor, King Wenceslaus IV of Bohemia (1301-1378). The Golden Bull, also known as the Bulla Aurea, was a significant charter issued in 1348 that established the elective monarchy in the Kingdom of Bohemia and granted the Bohemians greater autonomy within the Holy Roman Empire. The figure is depicted in elegant attire, wearing a long, flowing robe with a fur-trimmed mantle, and a crown adorned with precious stones. In his right hand, he holds the first seal, which bears the image of St. Wenceslaus, the patron saint of Bohemia, and the inscription "Bohemiae Regnum" (Kingdom of Bohemia). In his left hand, he holds the second seal, which displays the image of a golden bull and the inscription "Carolus IV. R. Romanorum Imperator et Bohemiae Rex" (Charles IV, Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia). This striking hand-coloured copperplate engraving is taken from Giulio Ferrario's Costumes Ancient and Modern of the Peoples of the World, published in Florence in 1844. The illustration is also found in a 14th-century illuminated manuscript, now held in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, known as the Codex Vindobonensis 2554. The manuscript, created between 1365 and 1375, is a valuable historical source for the study of fashion, art, and political history during the late Middle Ages.
