23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print depicts the First Steam Fire Engine, an engineering marvel of the 19th century, constructed in England by inventors and manufacturers Braithwaite and Ericsson in 1830. The steam-powered fire engine represented a revolutionary advancement in firefighting capabilities, replacing the labor-intensive and less effective hand-pumped fire engines of the time. The image showcases a team of brave firemen in action, skillfully maneuvering the massive machine. The firemen, dressed in their distinctive uniforms, are seen operating the various components of the steam fire engine, including the pump and hoses. The steam engine, with its large wheels and mobile design, allowed the firefighting team to quickly respond to fires and reach otherwise inaccessible areas. The steam engine's power was harnessed through a boiler, which produced high-pressure steam that drove the engine's pistons, in turn powering the pump. The hoses, which were connected to the engine, could be used to transport water from a nearby source to the fire. The steam engine's innovative design and capabilities significantly increased the effectiveness of firefighting services, enabling fire departments to save lives and property more efficiently than ever before. This engraving is a testament to the ingenuity and determination of Braithwaite and Ericsson, who revolutionized the firefighting industry with their invention. The First Steam Fire Engine remains an iconic symbol of the 19th century's technological advancements and the crucial role that innovation plays in protecting communities from the devastating effects of fire.
