23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Haymakers at Warkworth Castle, Northumberland

EDITORS COMMENTS
is an exquisite pencil and watercolor drawing by the renowned Irish artist, Anthony Carey Stannus (1830-1919). This work of art depicts a group of haymakers in the picturesque village of Warkworth, situated in the historic county of Northumberland, England. The castle, a prominent feature of the landscape, looms in the background, its white walls contrasting beautifully with the lush greenery and the vibrant, sunlit scene before us. The haymakers, dressed in traditional attire, are engrossed in their labor, their faces reflecting a sense of focus and determination. The artist's masterful use of pencil and watercolor brings the scene to life, with every detail meticulously rendered. The texture of the hay bales, the folds of the workers' clothing, and the intricate details of the castle walls are all rendered with a level of skill and precision that speaks to Stannus's exceptional artistic talent. The drawing is executed on white paper, which further enhances the brilliance of the colors and the intricacy of the details. The use of pencil for the outlines and watercolor for the shading and coloring creates a sense of depth and dimension, making the scene feel almost three-dimensional. Anthony Carey Stannus was known for his detailed and realistic drawings and watercolors, often depicting scenes of rural life and historic landmarks. This particular work, "The Haymakers at Warkworth Castle," is a testament to his artistic prowess and his ability to capture the essence of a moment in time. The drawing is a beautiful representation of the rich history and natural beauty of Northumberland and serves as a reminder of the simple pleasures of rural life.
