23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Mastaba of Ti: A Glimpse into the Ancient Egyptian Kingdom's Masculine Interiors The Mastaba of Ti, located in the ancient necropolis of Saqqara in Egypt, is an awe-inspiring architectural masterpiece that offers a unique window into the rich cultural heritage of the ancient African civilization. This magnificent structure, adorned with intricate reliefs and vibrant colors, was built as a tomb for an elite Egyptian official named Ti during the Old Kingdom period. Upon entering the Mastaba, one is greeted by the powerful and majestic image of Ti, depicted as a robust and masculine figure, standing before a sacrificial altar. The interior walls of the tomb are adorned with intricate relief carvings that depict various scenes from the life of Ti, including his role as an overseer of the royal granaries, his offerings to the gods, and his participation in sacred rituals. One particularly striking relief, located in the burial chamber, shows Ti making a sacrifice to the god Apis, represented by a large and imposing bull. The scene is filled with a sense of reverence and awe, as Ti, dressed in the traditional Egyptian shendyt kilt, holds a ceremonial knife in one hand and a bowl in the other, ready to make the offering. The relief is rendered in rich, earthy colors, bringing the scene to life and transporting us back to the ancient world. The Mastaba of Ti is a testament to the artistic and cultural achievements of the ancient Egyptians, and a reminder of the enduring legacy of African civilization. Its intricate reliefs and vibrant colors offer a glimpse into the lives of the people who lived in this ancient land thousands of years ago, and serve as a reminder of the rich history and cultural heritage that continues to inspire us today.
