17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This evocative image captures the scenic beauty and rich historical significance of Malacca, also known as Melaka, as seen from the sea during the early 1700s. The Dutch sailing vessels gracefully navigate the waters, adding a dynamic element to the tranquil scene. Malacca, an important historical city in Malaysia, was a significant trading post and strategic location in the Indian Ocean. Dutch merchants and explorers, among others, were drawn to its thriving ports and lucrative spice trade. The two Dutch sailing vessels, with their distinctive tall masts and sails billowing in the wind, represent the powerful presence of the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in the region. The VOC played a crucial role in the global spice trade, and Malacca was one of their most valuable possessions. The image also showcases the diverse range of shipping that frequented Malacca's waters. The presence of various vessels, from the sleek Dutch sailing ships to smaller local boats, underscores the city's importance as a hub of maritime trade and cultural exchange. Malacca's unique history is further reflected in the architectural wonders that can be seen in the background, including the A Famosa Fortress and St. Paul's Church. These landmarks, which date back to the Portuguese colonial era, stand as testament to the city's rich and complex past. This photograph offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when Malacca was a thriving center of maritime trade and cultural exchange, attracting merchants, explorers, and travelers from across the world.
