17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this evocative photograph taken in the 1960s, the aftermath of a major fire in Cambridge Heath Road, Hackney, East London, unfolds before our eyes. The scene is dominated by the London Fire Brigade's major control unit, which stands prominently in the foreground. Firefighters can be seen using three escape ladders to gain access to the upper floors of the affected building, their determined expressions reflecting the gravity of the situation. The fire, which seriously damaged the upper two floors of the building, had likely raged for hours, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. The charred remains of the structure loom ominously in the background, a stark reminder of the destructive power of fire. The London Fire Brigade's swift and effective response is evident in the presence of multiple fire engines and vehicles, each equipped with ladders and hoses. The firefighters, dressed in their iconic uniforms, work tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings. Despite the chaos and destruction, there is a sense of order and control in the scene. The firefighters' methodical approach to tackling the fire, and the coordinated efforts of the Brigade's units, demonstrate the importance of quick thinking and teamwork in the face of adversity. This photograph offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when firefighting was a more manual and labor-intensive process. It serves as a reminder of the vital role that the London Fire Brigade plays in keeping our communities safe and protecting our built environment from the devastating effects of fire.
