Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: Ancient Babylonian Land Grant Kudurru of Marduk-nadin-ahhe (1099-1082 BC) This print showcases a significant artifact from the Mesopotamian civilization, specifically a limestone kudurru from the reign of Marduk-nadin-ahhe, dating back to the 11th century BC. The kudurru, a type of boundary stone, is carved from black limestone and features intricate symbols and inscriptions in the cuneiform script. Marduk-nadin-ahhe was a king of the 2nd Dynasty of Isin, an ancient city-state located in southern Mesopotamia. This kudurru is a testament to his rule and serves as a legal document granting land to an individual or group. The upper portion of the stone is adorned with symbols representing the gods and goddesses of the Babylonian pantheon, including Marduk, the chief deity, and his consort Zarpanitum. The inscriptions on the kudurru are written in the cuneiform script, which was the primary writing system of the ancient Near East. The text details the terms of the land grant, providing valuable insights into the legal and administrative practices of the Babylonian civilization. The kudurru is now housed in the British Museum in London, United Kingdom, where it continues to captivate scholars and visitors alike, offering a glimpse into the rich history and culture of ancient Mesopotamia. The intricately carved symbols and inscriptions on this kudurru are a testament to the artistic and intellectual achievements of the Babylonian civilization. Its preservation in the British Museum allows us to study and learn from this fascinating period in human history. The kudurru stands as a reminder of the enduring legacy of the ancient world and the importance of preserving and celebrating our cultural heritage.
