23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Le Train Bleu

EDITORS COMMENTS
was a dance comedy production by the Russian Ballet, which premiered at the London Coliseum in 1924. This scene, drawn by the talented Hand of Hookway Cowles, captures the essence of the performance's allure and charm. The Russian Ballet was known for its innovative and avant-garde approach to ballet, and "Le Train Bleu" was no exception. Inspired by the vogue for the French Riviera and its associated pastimes and entertainments, the production brought the glamour and excitement of the French coastline to the London stage. The dancers, dressed in fashionable attire reminiscent of the 1920s, gracefully perform on stage, their movements reflecting the spirit of the era. The backdrop of the scene shows a train, symbolizing the iconic "Blue Train" that was a popular mode of transportation for the wealthy and famous between Paris and the French Riviera. The train adds an element of whimsy and adventure to the production, further enhancing the overall experience for the audience. The London Coliseum, a renowned venue for the performing arts, played host to this production, which showcased the Russian Ballet's exceptional talent and artistry. The combination of the captivating music, stunning costumes, and mesmerizing choreography made "Le Train Bleu" a must-see production during the 1920s. This photograph, drawn by Hookway Cowles, offers a glimpse into the magic of the performance and transports us back in time to an era of elegance, glamour, and artistic innovation.
