17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
A Vision of Elegance and Grace: Lady Constance Butler on the S.Y. Miranda during Cowes Week, 1907 This photograph captures the spirit of the Edwardian era, as Lady Constance Butler, dressed in her finest yachting attire, poses on the deck of the Miranda during Cowes Week in 1907. Lady Constance, the daughter of Lord Ormonde, Commodore of the Royal Yacht Squadron, embodies the elegance and sophistication of the yachting set during this time. The Miranda, a beautiful yacht with its sails hoisted in the background, glides effortlessly through the waters of the Solent, the body of water separating the Isle of Wight from the English mainland. The pristine white sails and gleaming wooden hull reflect the sun's rays, creating a stunning contrast against the clear blue sea. Lady Constance, with her pet pug dog nestled in her arms, exudes an air of confidence and poise. Her yachting costume, consisting of a straw boater hat, a white blouse, a long-sleeved jumper, and a navy-blue skirt, is both practical and fashionable, reflecting the functional yet stylish nature of yachting wear during this period. The pug, with its distinctive wrinkled face and curly tail, adds a playful touch to the image. The photograph also offers a glimpse into the social fabric of the yachting community during Cowes Week, an annual sailing regatta that has been taking place since 1826. The event attracted the cream of British society, who would gather to compete in various yacht races and enjoy the festivities. Lady Constance's presence on board the Miranda underscores her status as a prominent member of this elite circle. This photograph, with its timeless beauty and historical significance, transports us back to an era of elegance, grace, and sophistication, where the pursuit of sailing and the love for one's pet were intertwined in the daily lives of the yachting set.
