17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Glimpse into the Rich History of Jewish Communities in India: The Restored Synagogue of Kadavumbagam, Cochin The captivating image showcases the intricately carved interior of the Kadavumbagam Synagogue, located in the historic town of Cochin, India. Established in the late 16th century, this synagogue is a testament to the rich and vibrant history of the Malabar Jewish community in India. The synagogue's interior, now a prized possession of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, was carefully dismantled, transported, and reconstructed to preserve its unique heritage for future generations. The meticulous restoration process involved the careful restoration of the Hebrew inscriptions, ornate carvings, and intricate furniture that adorn the sacred space. The Malabar Jewish community, also known as the Cochin Jews, traces its origins to the 6th century CE when Jewish traders first arrived in India. Over the centuries, they established a thriving community in Cochin, which was a major trading hub. The synagogue served as the spiritual center of the community, where they gathered to worship and celebrate their faith. The interior of the synagogue is a stunning blend of Indian and Jewish architectural influences. The intricate wood carvings, which depict various biblical scenes, are a testament to the craftsmanship of the local artisans. The Hebrew inscriptions, which adorn the walls and the ark that houses the Torah scrolls, reflect the deep connection of the Jewish community to their faith and traditions. The restoration of the Kadavumbagam Synagogue's interior is a significant achievement in the preservation of Jewish heritage in India. It serves as a reminder of the rich and complex history of Jewish communities in the region and their contributions to the cultural tapestry of India. Today, the synagogue stands as a symbol of the enduring bonds between India and Israel, and the shared commitment to preserving the rich heritage of diverse communities.
