Ankara Archaeological Hittite Hittites Tank Warriors Masculine Persons Up Right

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this relief from the Archaeological Museum in Ankara, Turkey, Hittite warriors are depicted in a scene of imperial grandeur atop a tank during the late imperial period of Hittite art. The vertical, upright composition of the relief showcases the masculine strength and power of the Hittite people, a civilization that ruled Anatolia from approximately 1600 to 1180 BCE. The vibrant colors of the relief bring the scene to life, with the intricate details of the warriors' armor and weapons on full display. Each figure is depicted with a unique expression and posture, suggesting the dynamic and complex nature of Hittite military culture. The tank, or chariot, is a common motif in Hittite art and represents the advanced military technology of the time. The Hittites were known for their formidable army, which included both infantry and chariot forces. This relief provides a glimpse into the military might and imperial power of the Hittite civilization during the late imperial period. The relief's discovery and preservation in the Archaeological Museum in Ankara is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Turkey and the enduring legacy of the Hittite civilization. The Hittites are an important chapter in the history of Anatolia, and this relief serves as a powerful reminder of their military prowess and artistic achievements. The relief's vertical orientation and intricate details make it a striking work of art, worthy of admiration and study by scholars and art lovers alike. The Hittites may have ruled thousands of years ago, but their legacy continues to inspire and captivate us today.
