17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph, titled 'The Gasworks of Landskrona' and dated 1910, offers a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past. The image showcases the intricate machinery and labor-intensive process of producing gas through the use of furnaces. The central focus of the photograph is a worker, clad in protective gear, tending to one of the large, roaring ovens. The furnace, with its complex network of pipes and valves, appears to be in full operation, as flames dance and flicker within. The scene is set against a backdrop of other ovens and industrial structures, all contributing to the larger gas production process. Smoke billows from the chimneys, adding to the sense of industry and activity. The workers, who are scattered throughout the scene, seem to move in unison, each performing their specific tasks with precision and purpose. Despite the apparent danger and intensity of the environment, there is a sense of order and discipline amongst the workers. Their focused expressions and deliberate movements suggest a deep understanding of the process and the importance of their role in it. The photograph offers a unique window into the world of early 20th-century industrial labor, highlighting the human element that often goes unnoticed in the study of history. The Gasworks of Landskrona serves as a reminder of the ingenuity and determination of the human spirit, as well as the transformative power of industry. The photograph's composition and use of light and shadow create a visually striking image that is both historically significant and aesthetically pleasing.
