FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This powerful photograph captures a pivotal moment in the history of post-World War II Europe: the end of the Berlin Blockade in May 1949. For over a year, the Soviet Union had imposed a land blockade on supplies to West Berlin, cutting off the 2.5 million inhabitants from essential food and other necessities. In response, the British and American governments launched an enormous airlift, transporting supplies from the West into the city. This heroic effort, known as Operation Vittles, saw over 200,000 flights carrying food, fuel, and other essentials to the beleaguered city. In this image, German men and women are seen removing the rubble barricades that had separated the American and Soviet sectors of Berlin. The barricades had been erected during the blockade as a means of controlling access to the city. With the blockade's end in sight, the people of Berlin were eager to reunite their city. The lifting of the blockade was a significant victory for the Western Allies and a defeat for Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. The image serves as a poignant reminder of the determination and resilience of the people of Berlin during this trying time in history. The end of the blockade marked the beginning of the Cold War and the division of the city, which would last until the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. This photograph, taken by an unknown photographer, is a testament to the indomitable spirit of the human spirit and the power of international cooperation in the face of adversity.
