23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

A Cross-Section Reveal of H.M.S. King George V: An Intriguing Glimpse into the Heart of a 35,000-Ton Battleship (1946) This cross-section diagram, created by renowned naval artist G.H. Davis, offers a unique and intriguing perspective into the H.M.S. King George V, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet and one of the most modern battleships of its time. Dating back to 1946, this diagram showcases the impressive layout of this colossal vessel, which weighed in at a formidable 35,000 tons. The diagram reveals an intricate labyrinth of spaces and facilities designed to support the crew and maintain the ship's operational readiness. Messes, quarters, and gun rooms are prominently displayed, providing essential living and dining areas for the ship's personnel. However, this diagram also highlights less obvious features that were crucial to the functioning of a battleship. For instance, the butcher's shop is depicted, where skilled butchers prepared fresh meat for the ship's messes. The soda fountain, a popular gathering place for the crew, is also shown, offering a brief respite from the daily rigors of life at sea. Another essential facility, the coppersmiths shop, is represented, where skilled artisans repaired and maintained the ship's vital copper components. This cross-section diagram provides a fascinating glimpse into the inner workings of a battleship, offering a glimpse into the complex world of naval warfare during the mid-20th century. The H.M.S. King George V, as the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, represented the pinnacle of naval engineering and design, and this diagram offers a unique window into its intricacies.
