31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Conducting of an Ashlar," an exquisite oil painting by the renowned Spanish artist Francisco Goya y Lucientes, dates back to 1828. This masterpiece, now held in the collection of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, was imported into the United States in 1746. The historical significance of this artwork lies in its depiction of a Masonic ritual, specifically the conducting of an Ashlar, or a square block of stone used as a symbol in Freemasonry. The painting showcases a group of Freemasons gathered around an altar, dressed in their distinctive regalia. The central figure, wearing the Master Mason apron and holding a square and compass, conducts the ritual, while other members of the lodge look on intently. The intricate details of the Masonic symbols and the somber expressions on the faces of the figures create an atmosphere of solemnity and reverence. Goya, a leading figure in the Spanish art scene, was known for his innovative techniques and his ability to capture the essence of human emotion. In "The Conducting of an Ashlar," he masterfully conveys the sense of brotherhood and unity among the Freemasons, as well as the importance of tradition and symbolism in their organization. This painting is a testament to the rich history of Freemasonry and the enduring influence of Spanish art. Its acquisition by the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco adds to the museum's impressive collection of international art and further cements its reputation as a premier cultural institution. The intricate details and historical significance of "The Conducting of an Ashlar" make it a must-see for art enthusiasts and history buffs alike.
