17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This striking three-quarter length portrait captures the determined and resolute figure of Colonel Benedict Arnold, a key commander in the American Revolutionary War's campaign against Quebec in 1776. Arnold led the provincial troops through the treacherous wilderness of Canada, braving the harsh winter conditions and relentless British opposition. The image shows Arnold in his military uniform, his right hand gesturing confidently, as he gazes off into the distance towards the backdrop of Quebec City, Canada. The city's fortified walls and towers can be seen in the background, a testament to the formidable challenge faced by Arnold and his men. The date of the portrait is March 26, 1776, a critical moment in the campaign. Despite suffering a wound during the storming of Quebec, Arnold's bravery and leadership were instrumental in the American forces' successes in the region. However, this period of military triumph would be short-lived for Arnold, as he would later become infamous for his betrayal of the American cause. The portrait's creation was not for commercial use but rather as a testament to Arnold's military prowess and the pivotal role he played in the early years of the American Revolution. The image, with its dramatic composition and evocative backdrop, serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices and struggles endured by the men and women who fought for American independence.
