17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Claude, Daughter of Francis I, Duke of Brittany, was the wife of King Francis I of France (r. 1515-1547). Born in 1499, Claude was the eldest daughter of King Charles VIII of France's sister, Anne de Beaujeu, and her husband, Duke Francis I of Brittany. In 1514, at the age of fifteen, she was betrothed to the future King Francis I, who was then the Duke of Orléans. Their marriage took place in 1515, and Claude became the Queen of France. Claude was known for her beauty, intelligence, and piety. She was a devoted wife and mother, bearing ten children to King Francis I. Tragically, only four of them survived to adulthood. Claude was also a patron of the arts and supported the arts and literature, particularly the works of Rabelais and Ronsard. During her husband's reign, Claude played an important role in the political life of the kingdom. She acted as regent during her husband's absences and represented him at various diplomatic events. In 1524, King Francis I was captured at the Battle of Pavia, and Claude was left to rule in his stead. She managed to maintain order and prevent rebellion, but the kingdom was plunged into financial crisis. After her husband's release from captivity in 1526, Claude resumed her role as Queen consort. She continued to support the arts and patronage and was known for her generosity and charitable works. Claude died in 1524, at the young age of twenty-five, leaving behind a legacy as a beloved and respected queen of France. This image of Claude, dressed in the robes of the Order of the Annunciation, is a testament to her status as a royal figure and a symbol of the French monarchy during the Renaissance period.
