23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Solemn Remembrance of Bunkers Hill Mine Disaster, 1875 This evocative image transports us back in time to the Bunkers Hill Mine in North Staffordshire, England, in the year 1875. The scene before us is one of quiet reflection, as the community comes together to mourn the loss of lives taken in a tragic mining accident. The Bunkers Hill Mine, a historic colliery nestled in the rolling hills of Staffordshire, was a vital part of the regional coal industry during the late 19th century. Coal mining was a dangerous and labor-intensive occupation, with accidents and fatalities a common occurrence. However, the disaster that unfolded on April 30, 1875, was one that would leave an indelible mark on the community and the mining industry as a whole. The cause of the explosion that rocked the mine that fateful day remains unclear, but the aftermath was all too real. The image captures the somber scene that followed, with mourners gathered at the pit head, their faces etched with grief and sorrow. The mine's headgear, a symbol of industry and progress, now stands as a grim reminder of the human cost of coal extraction. The Bunkers Hill Mine disaster is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women who toiled in the coal mines of North Staffordshire and beyond. It is a chapter in the history of the region's industrial past, a past that continues to shape the identity and culture of the area today. This image serves as a testament to the resilience and strength of the human spirit, even in the face of tragedy. As we gaze upon this hauntingly beautiful image, we are reminded of the importance of remembering our past, of honoring the memories of those who came before us, and of striving to learn from the lessons of history. The Bunkers Hill Mine disaster may be a sad chapter in the annals of history, but it is a chapter that deserves to be remembered.
