31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This enchanting photograph captures the youthful charm of the Battenberg children, the offspring of Prince Louis of Battenberg, 1st Marquess of Milford Haven, and Princess Victoria of Hesse. The image, taken around 1907, showcases the four siblings in a playful and candid moment. Clockwise from left, we find Princess Louise, later known as Lady Louise Mountbatten, who would go on to become Queen of Sweden in 1952, when she married Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden. Next to her is Prince George, later 2nd Marquess of Milford Haven, who served in the British Royal Navy and was a close friend of King George V. Princess Alice, depicted in the third position, would later become Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark when she married Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark in 1903. Alice was the mother of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and the grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II. The youngest sibling, Prince Louis, later Lord Louis Mountbatten, is shown on the right. He would become a prominent figure in the British Royal Family, serving as the last Viceroy of India and a mentor to both Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. This portrait offers a glimpse into the lives of these remarkable individuals during their formative years, providing a fascinating insight into their royal heritage and the history of the European monarchies.
