17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
April 1521: The Defiant Aztecs in the Final Days of the Fall of Tenochtitlan Amidst the ruins of the Old Palace and the smoldering ashes of the Fort of Xoloc, the once mighty Aztec Empire stood on the brink of collapse. The relentless onslaught of Hernán Cortés and his Spanish conquistadors had taken a heavy toll on the indigenous people, leaving them exhausted but not defeated. In this powerful and evocative image from the annals of history, Aztec warriors are depicted in the midst of fierce combat, their determination and courage undeterred by the seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against them. The ground beneath their feet is stained with the blood of battle, a testament to the carnage that had unfolded in the days leading up to this moment. The Old Palace, the grand seat of Aztec power and culture, lies in ruins in the background, its once majestic walls reduced to rubble. The Fort of Xoloc, a strategic stronghold that had held out against the Spanish for weeks, now lies in ruins, its destruction signaling the imminent fall of Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital city. Despite the loss of their most significant fortifications and the exhaustion that weighed heavily on their shoulders, the Aztecs continued to fight with every ounce of strength they possessed. Their unyielding spirit and tenacity serve as a poignant reminder of the indomitable nature of the human spirit in the face of adversity. This historical print, captured from the vast archives of Mary Evans Prints Online, offers a glimpse into the final days of the Aztec Empire and the events that shaped the course of history in the Americas. The image, though haunting in its depiction of the devastation wrought by the clash of two vastly different civilizations, is a testament to the enduring power of history and the lessons it holds for generations to come.
