23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph presents a fascinating glimpse into the intriguing world of human evolution, with the Taung Child, a representative of Australopithecus Africanus (approximately 3 feet tall on the left), and his successor, the Rhodesian Man (represented by the Broken Hill skull, standing at around 6 feet tall, on the right). Dating back to 1925, this reconstruction offers a unique perspective on the links in the chain of our ancestral lineage. Australopithecus Africanus, discovered in South Africa in 1924, is considered one of the earliest known hominids, or human ancestors, with a more human-like skeletal structure than its ape relatives. The Taungs skull, discovered in 1925, is particularly significant due to its relatively small brain size, which is similar to modern humans, and its protruding brow ridge. The Rhodesian Man, discovered in 1921 in present-day Zimbabwe, is another important hominid in the human evolutionary tree. The Broken Hill skull, which represents this species in the photograph, is notable for its larger brain size and more pronounced facial features, which are more similar to modern humans than Australopithecus Africanus. This photograph serves as a powerful reminder of the rich history of human evolution and the intricate links between our ancient ancestors and ourselves. The Taung Child and the Rhodesian Man represent significant milestones in our journey from our primate past to the complex beings we are today.
