17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from the Liszt Collection showcases a remarkable etching of Saint Charles Borromee, an esteemed cardinal and archbishop of Milan. The artwork, created by Jean Morin in Paris around 1605-1650, captures the essence of this revered figure with great precision. In this third state etching, measuring approximately 12 1/8 x 9 5/8 inches (308 x 244 cm), Morin skillfully depicts Saint Charles Borromee's dignified presence and spiritual aura. The intricate details in the image bring to life his cardinal robes and elaborate headdress, emphasizing his high rank within the Catholic Church. The original painting that inspired this etching was crafted by Philippe Champaigne in Brussels between 1602 and 1674. Morin's interpretation beautifully translates Champaigne's work into a medium that allows for wider distribution and appreciation. As we gaze upon this print, we are transported back to a time when faith played a central role in society. Saint Charles Borromee stands as an embodiment of devotion and piety during a period marked by religious fervor. Whether displayed as part of an art collection or used for personal reflection, this print serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of Saint Charles Borromee. It reminds us of the power of art to capture not only physical likeness but also deeper spiritual qualities that resonate across centuries.
