23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a remarkable portrait of P. Med Doctor Aet XLV, Stephanus Blancardus. The image, captured in 1695 and engraved by Steven Blankaart, exudes an air of intellectual prowess and sophistication. Draped in the elegance of the era, Blancardus's presence is both commanding and enigmatic. The print not only captures Blancardus's striking visage but also alludes to his significant contributions to the medical field. Titled "Anatomia reformata, sive, Concinna corporis humani dissectio" this masterpiece represents a meticulous dissection of the human body that has been enhanced with modern insights. It serves as a testament to Blancardus's dedication to advancing medical knowledge for contemporary scholars. Furthermore, this extraordinary piece includes another groundbreaking work by the same author: "De balsamatione nova methodus". This revolutionary method had never before been described or documented by anyone else—a true testament to Blancardus's innovative spirit. The artistry employed in this engraving is truly exceptional; every line and detail meticulously etched onto paper by D. vd Plaats and P. v Gunst. Their skillful rendering brings out every nuance of expression on Blancardus's face while capturing his essence as a pioneering figure in medicine. While we admire this stunning print from Liszt Collection for its historical significance and artistic merit, it is important to note that it should not be used for commercial purposes—
