1681 Anointed Jan Luyken Tears Sinful
23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print titled "Christ anointed by a sinful woman" we are transported back to the year 1681 through the masterful work of Jan Luyken. The image beautifully captures a profound moment from biblical history, where a woman humbly washes the feet of Christ, her tears falling as she delicately wipes them with her hair. Luyken's attention to detail is evident in every brushstroke, as he skillfully portrays the emotions and expressions on each character's face. The viewer can almost feel the weight of sin being lifted off the woman's shoulders as she anoints Christ with reverence and devotion. The juxtaposition between purity and sin is powerfully depicted in this artwork. It serves as a reminder that even those burdened by their transgressions can find redemption through faith and repentance. This timeless message resonates across centuries, touching our hearts today just as it did when Luyken first created this masterpiece. Quint Lox has expertly captured all these nuances within his print from Liszt Collection. Through his lens, we are able to appreciate not only the artistry but also experience a sense of spiritual connection with this iconic scene. This print invites us to reflect upon our own lives - reminding us that no matter how flawed or imperfect we may be, there is always hope for forgiveness and renewal.
