23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the bustling streets of Ramsgate, a charming coastal town nestled in the heart of Thanet, Kent. The image beautifully captures King Street from its western end, offering a glimpse into daily life between 1945 and 1960. As our eyes wander through this historic snapshot, we are immediately drawn to the foreground where two adjacent buildings stand proudly on the right. Numbered as 19-21, these structures exude an air of timeless elegance against their backdrop. Among them is Winters outfitters, established in 1940 - a testament to enduring craftsmanship and style. The scene itself is alive with activity; pedestrians stroll along the pavements while cars pass by at a leisurely pace. The architecture lining both sides of King Street showcases a blend of traditional and contemporary design elements that reflect the evolving times. From quaint storefronts adorned with intricate signage to larger buildings boasting ornate facades, each structure contributes to Ramsgate's unique character. John Pennycuick's keen eye for detail has immortalized this moment in history, allowing us to step back into an era long gone but not forgotten. This print serves as a poignant reminder of how much our surroundings can change over time while also reminding us that certain aspects endure – like Winters outfitters standing steadfast amidst shifting trends and passing years.
