FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This 1825 print captures the essence of Thomas Wolsey, a prominent figure in 16th century England. Painted by artist Sarah, this portrait showcases Wolsey's commanding presence and influential role as Henry VIII's most trusted government minister. Clad in vibrant red robes adorned with his coat of arms, Wolsey exudes power and authority. Wolsey's involvement in diplomatic efforts to annul Henry VIII's marriage to Catherine of Aragon is highlighted here. As the King's right-hand man, he played a pivotal role in securing approval for this significant event. His dedication to politics and religion is evident through his Roman Catholic attire and the scroll he holds, symbolizing his commitment to upholding religious values. The attention to detail captured by Sarah brings out every aspect of Wolsey's character. From his distinctive headgear that signifies his high-ranking status as a cardinal, to the intricate heraldry on his robe representing his noble lineage - no element has been overlooked. Displayed against a neutral background, this portrait allows viewers to focus solely on Wolsey himself - a man who held immense power within English society during this era. This historical artifact from Memoirs of the Court of Queen Elizabeth serves as an invaluable glimpse into one of England's most influential statesmen and provides insight into the political landscape of Tudor times.
