FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the ancient Greek vase painting "Theseus kills the Minotaur" by Hermonax, dating back to the 5th century BC. The artist, known for his mastery of the red-figure style, painted this scene in Athens between approximately 470 and 440 BC. The artwork is currently housed at the Argos Museum. In this depiction, we witness Theseus bravely confronting and slaying the fearsome Minotaur with Ariadne present. With a sword in hand, Theseus stands tall as he battles this mythical creature that is half man and half beast. Ariadne's presence adds an intriguing element to the composition, perhaps symbolizing her role in helping Theseus navigate through the labyrinth where the Minotaur resided. The vibrant colors on this pottery artifact bring life to an epic moment from Greek mythology. This image transports us back to a time when warfare was not only physical but also mythological. It serves as a reminder of humanity's fascination with heroic tales and our enduring connection to ancient civilizations. As we gaze upon this historic piece of homeware turned art object, we are reminded of its significance within Greek culture and its lasting impact on our understanding of mythology today. This photograph captures both the beauty and power contained within ancient Greek artistry while preserving it for future generations to appreciate at one glance.
