23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print transports us back to the bustling streets of London in the 1920s. The image showcases St Paul's churchyard, a serene oasis nestled amidst the vibrant cityscape. Towering above it all is the magnificent St Paul's Cathedral, its grandeur and architectural beauty commanding attention. Intriguingly, a tollgate stands prominently in the foreground, serving as a reminder of an era when such barriers regulated access to roads. It symbolizes both progress and tradition intersecting within this dynamic metropolis. The scene is alive with activity - people can be seen strolling along the road, going about their daily lives. The railings lining the street add structure to this urban landscape while also providing glimpses of nature beyond. Whiffin's masterful composition captures not only physical elements but also evokes a sense of spirituality that permeates through St Paul's Churchyard. This religious connection is further emphasized by Arthur St John Adcock's editorial contribution from "Wonderful London" which adds depth to our understanding of this historical moment. As we gaze upon this monochrome masterpiece, we are transported back in time; we feel connected to those who walked these very streets almost a century ago. It serves as a poignant reminder that even amidst change and progress, there are enduring landmarks like St Paul's Cathedral that anchor us to our past and shape our collective identity as Londoners.
