17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photo print, titled "St. Georges Church from the Docks, Liverpool, c1830" captures a moment frozen in time during the 19th century. The skilled creator of this masterpiece is none other than Edward Francis Finden, an engraver renowned for his attention to detail. The image showcases the bustling quayside of Liverpool's docks, with majestic ships lining the waterfront. Towering warehouses stand as witnesses to the city's thriving shipping industry. Amidst this vibrant scene rises the magnificent spire of St George Derby Square, a symbol of Christian faith that has stood since its consecration in 1734. Liverpool's rich maritime history comes alive through this print. The River Mersey flows gracefully in the background as sailing ships navigate its waters with grace and precision. This snapshot provides a glimpse into an era when trade and transportation flourished along these shores. Sadly, time took its toll on St George's Church as dwindling congregations led to its closure and eventual demolition in 1899. However, thanks to Edward Francis Finden's artistry and skillful engraving techniques captured within this print, we can still marvel at the grandeur that once graced Liverpool's landscape. As we gaze upon this remarkable piece by William Westall under Edward Francis Finden’s guidance (not affiliated with any company), we are transported back to an age where architectural features blended harmoniously with nature’s geographical wonders. Let us cherish this visual testament to Liverpool's past - a reminder of how industry shaped our world while religion provided solace amidst bustling wharfs and warehouses.
