FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Peace and Joy
EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating sketch for the town hall of the 11th arrondissement, created by the renowned French artist Victor Emile Prouve in the late 19th century. This masterpiece, dated around 1898, is an allegorical oil painting on canvas that beautifully encapsulates the concepts of peace and joy. The painting presents a joyful and peaceful landscape, set indoors, with a panoramic view of a serene countryside. The artist skillfully employs a rich color palette, with hues of green, blue, and gold, to evoke a sense of tranquility and happiness. In the foreground, we see a group of women, dressed in traditional French attire, gathered around a gravestone, their faces filled with joy and contentment. The gravestone, adorned with intricate carvings, symbolizes the passage of time and the enduring legacy of the past. The background is populated with figures engaged in various activities, suggesting the harmony and unity of the community. The painting's allegorical nature is further emphasized by the use of allegorical figures, such as Death, who is depicted as a skeletal figure playing a violin, symbolizing the inevitability of change and the cyclical nature of life. This stunning work of art, with its intricate details and rich symbolism, is a testament to the artistic school of the 19th century and the enduring heritage of French art. It is currently housed in the Petit Palais museum in Paris, where it continues to inspire and delight visitors from around the world. Victor Emile Prouve's "Peace and Joy" is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of art, the 19th century, or the cultural heritage of France. Its joyful and peaceful imagery serves as a reminder of the enduring power of art to uplift and inspire, even in the face of adversity.
