23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the year 1933-1934, where an Egyptian tomb has been ransacked. The image is a part of the renowned collection called "Wonders of the Past, Volume I" offering a glimpse into ancient archaeology and historical artifacts. The scene depicts a somber interior of the tomb, revealing the devastating aftermath of destruction and crime. A century-old burial site from the 14th century BC has fallen victim to grave robbers seeking valuable treasures. The once sacred space now stands in disarray, with broken coffins and scattered burial goods serving as haunting reminders of lives lost. Located amidst Luxor's majestic landscapes, this mausoleum was originally intended as a final resting place for an esteemed individual. However, its sanctity was violated by those driven by greed or desperation. Through this photograph, we are transported to Ancient Egypt, witnessing both the beauty and vulnerability that lie within its tombs. It serves as a poignant reminder of how our shared human history can be marred by acts of desecration. Though created by an unknown artist, it is through Amedee Forestier's lens that we are able to witness this heartbreaking sight. Forestier's skillful composition captures not only the physical damage but also evokes emotions surrounding death and loss. As viewers engage with this powerful image print from Heritage Images' extensive collection, they are invited to reflect on our responsibility towards preserving cultural heritage for future generations.
