17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Queen Guinevere, 1874 - A Captivating Portrait of Arthurian Romance
EDITORS COMMENTS
. This mesmerizing photograph, titled "Queen Guinevere" was created in 1874 by the talented Julia Margaret Cameron. Serving as a photographic illustration to Alfred Tennyson's renowned "Idylls of the King" this image captures the essence of Arthurian legend with its poetic narrative. Julia Margaret Cameron skillfully transports us back to the romantic era through her artistic style and soft focus technique. The portrait showcases Queen Guinevere herself, a central figure in Arthurian mythology and literature. With her regal presence and delicate features, she embodies both strength and vulnerability. The sepia tones add an air of nostalgia, evoking a sense of timelessness that resonates with viewers even today. This portrayal is reminiscent of Pre-Raphaelite aesthetics, reflecting Cameron's association with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. As we gaze upon this remarkable piece, we are transported into a world where chivalry reigns supreme and love intertwines with destiny. It serves as a testament to the enduring power of storytelling through visual art. Displayed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, this photograph stands as an important part of British heritage art. Its inclusion in Tennyson's epic poem further solidifies its significance within literary circles. "Queen Guinevere" invites us to immerse ourselves in the enchanting realm of King Arthur's court—a place where passion meets tragedy—and reminds us that even centuries later, tales steeped in romance continue to captivate our hearts and minds.
