17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print depicts Princess Elizabeth, later known as Queen Elizabeth I of England, born in 1533 and reigning until 1603. The portrait was created by renowned English engraver Richard Earlom in 1810, as part of the comprehensive collection "Portraits of characters illustrious in British History" published by Samuel Woodburn in London in 1815. Elizabeth's elegant attire reflects the fashion trends of the late Tudor and early Stuart eras. She is dressed in a high-necked, long-sleeved gown, adorned with intricate lace collars and cuffs. A sumptuous black velvet mantle, edged with ermine fur, drapes over her shoulders, adding an air of regality to her appearance. Elizabeth's neck is adorned with a magnificent pearl necklace, symbolizing her royal status and wealth. The portrait showcases the meticulous attention to detail characteristic of Earlom's work. The artist masterfully captures the subtle expressions and features of the monarch, conveying her intelligence, strength, and poise. Elizabeth's piercing gaze and confident posture exude the confidence and authority of a powerful queen. The portrait also bears the influence of earlier works by renowned artists such as Nicholas Hilliard, who was known for his exquisite miniature portraits of the English royalty. The print serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of Elizabeth I, who ruled England during a time of great political and cultural change, and left an indelible mark on British history.
