31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This striking 17th century portrait, titled "Portrait of Oliver Cromwell, in a Frame with Allegorical Figures and Historical Representations," showcases the enigmatic figure of Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland (1599-1658). The painting, believed to be from the Dutch or Netherlandish artistic school, dates back to around 1650, making it an invaluable piece of historical art. Cromwell, depicted here in head and shoulders format, wears a plain, dark suit and a white collar, signifying his political and military power. The intricately decorated frame, adorned with allegorical figures and historical representations, adds an extra layer of meaning to the portrait. The allegorical figures, including a soldier in armor and a man holding a letter, symbolize Cromwell's leadership in the armed forces and his role as a political and military leader. The lower case lettering along the frame's edge reads "Lieutenant General," further emphasizing Cromwell's military prowess. The painting's rich color palette and meticulous oil technique add to its decorative and artistic value. The painting's provenance is unknown, but it is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Europe, making it accessible to scholars and art enthusiasts from around the world. This portrait is a testament to the complex political climate of 17th century Britain and the role of powerful figures like Oliver Cromwell in shaping its history. The painting's intricate details, allegorical figures, and historical representations continue to captivate viewers and offer insights into the past.
