FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Other's Health," plate nine from Félix Vallotton's series "Intimacies," created in 1898, is a captivating black-and-white drawing that invites the viewer into an intimate and intriguing scene. Vallotton, a Swiss artist and a key figure of the Nabis artistic movement in France, masterfully depicts a tense moment between a man and a woman in an indoor setting. The couple, dressed in the fashion of the late 19th century, are seated at a table, their gazes locked in a heated exchange. The man, with a serious expression, reaches out to offer a glass filled with an ominous-looking medicine to the woman, who recoils in apprehension. The atmosphere is thick with tension and unease, as if the balance of power in their relationship hangs in the balance. The drawing is a satirical commentary on the role of medicine and science in romantic relationships during this period. Vallotton's use of stark contrasts and bold lines adds to the sense of drama and intensity, while the glass and various medicines on the table serve as visual reminders of the societal expectations and pressures that shaped romantic encounters. This print is a rare and valuable example of Vallotton's artistic skill and his ability to capture the complexities of human emotion and relationships. It is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of art, particularly the post-impressionist and satirical movements of the late 19th century. Originally published in the French literary magazine "La Revue Blanche," this print is now part of the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, where it continues to captivate and inspire visitors from around the world.
