17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph, titled 'Main street and town center, Escalante, Utah,' was captured by renowned American photographer Dorothea Lange in 1936. The image offers a glimpse into the small rural town of Escalante during the Great Depression. The star-shaped buildings, including a movie theater and various offices, line the main street, which is dotted with telegraph poles. The town center, surrounded by timber structures and the vast open landscape, appears quiet and still. Dorothea Lange, born Dorothea Margaretta Nutzhorn, was an influential photographer best known for her documentation of the Great Depression through her work with the Farm Security Administration (FSA) and the Office of War Information (OWI). This photograph is part of her extensive collection, which captures the economic struggles and resilience of Americans during this period. The image, a nitrate negative, is now housed in the Library of Congress, a testament to the historical significance of Lange's work. The photograph not only showcases the architecture and layout of a small American town during the 1930s but also serves as a reminder of the country's past and its enduring heritage. The concept of communication is evident in the image, with the movie theater serving as a central hub for entertainment and information dissemination. The telegraph poles further emphasize the importance of communication during a time when long-distance travel was more challenging. This photograph is a powerful reminder of the past, offering a glimpse into a time when the country was grappling with economic recession and the challenges of the Great Depression.
