23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This striking photograph captures the intensity and chaos of the Russian Revolution on March 12, 1917. The image, titled 'La Revolution Russe; Le 12 mars 1917: canons de campagne derriere une barricade sur laquelle flotte le drapeau rouge' (The Russian Revolution: red flag flying over cannons and barricade), is taken from the French publication 'L'Album de la Guerre 1914-1919, Volume 2' by L'Illustration, Paris, 1924. The scene portrays a wintry street filled with barricades, with cannons positioned behind them. Soldiers, bundled up against the cold, maneuver their weapons, while a red flag flies proudly above. The image is a powerful representation of the rebellion and political upheaval that swept through Russia during this time. The Russian Revolution, which lasted from 1917 to 1923, was a period of significant political and social upheaval in Russia. It marked the end of the Romanov dynasty and the rise of communism under the leadership of the Bolshevik Party, led by Vladimir Lenin. The revolution was sparked by a combination of factors, including the hardships of World War I, economic instability, and widespread discontent with the Tsarist government. The photograph is a poignant reminder of the tumultuous events that unfolded during this period in history. The image's anonymous creator captures the raw emotion and intensity of the revolution, with the red flag symbolizing the hope and determination of the people to bring about change. The cannons and barricades serve as a reminder of the violence and chaos that accompanied the revolution, while the snowy, wintry scene adds to the sense of isolation and desperation. Overall, this photograph is a powerful and evocative representation of the Russian Revolution and the profound impact it had on the world.
