17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This image showcases a rare and intricately detailed folio from the Kalpasutra Manuscript, an enigmatic work of art originating from the late 19th to early 20th century in the region of Gujarat, India. The exact creator of this masterpiece remains unknown, adding to the allure of this exquisite piece. The folio is adorned with a stunning cover made of black silk brocade, housing the delicate ink, opaque watercolor, and gold on paper illustrations within. The central focus of the image is a group of men and women, facing each other in a respectful and devotional posture, with their hands pressed together in a gesture of worship. The figures are depicted in various stages of the Jain religion's sacred cycle, including a man and woman in the foreground, who appear to be in a deep meditation, and a majestic lion and a serene elephant in the background, symbolizing power and wisdom, respectively. The Kalpasutra Manuscript is a significant piece of Jain heritage art, originating from the rich cultural tradition of Hindoostan (India) and Southeast Asia. The manuscript's pages are filled with intricate illustrations and calligraphy, making it an essential addition to any collection of Asian art or religious art. This folio is now part of the esteemed Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), where it continues to inspire and captivate visitors from all corners of the globe.
