17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Holy Family with an Angel, a masterpiece by the anonymous artist known as the Master of 1499, is a captivating oil on wood painting dating back to the year 1500. Housed in the esteemed collection of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium, this early Netherlandish artwork embodies the essence of devotion and tenderness. At the heart of the composition lies the Holy Family: the Virgin Mary, her son Jesus Christ, and St. Joseph. Mary, the embodiment of motherhood and the Mother of God, cradles her child, gazing at him with a loving and protective expression. The Christ Child reaches out towards a ripe apple, symbolizing the fall of original sin and the promise of redemption. The scene is further enriched by the presence of an angel, who hovers above the family, his wings spread in adoration. The angel holds open a large, ornate book, likely representing the New Testament, emphasizing the importance of the teachings of Christ. The intricate details of the painting reveal the artist's mastery of the medium. Mary's delicate pearl necklace and Joseph's sandals, adorned with pearls and intricate designs, add an element of earthly beauty to the otherwise otherworldly scene. The still life elements, such as the apple and the book, serve to ground the painting in reality, enhancing the sense of intimacy and idyll. This exquisite artwork is a testament to the artistic prowess of the Master of 1499 and the rich cultural heritage of Flanders during the early Renaissance period. The Holy Family with an Angel continues to inspire awe and reverence, inviting viewers to contemplate the profound themes of motherhood, love, and redemption.
