FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This 19th century print, titled "Etude de figure d'après le Jugement Dernier de Michel-Ange à la chapelle Sixtine" by Joseph Guichard, offers a fascinating glimpse into the artistic world of the past. The image is a study of a figure from Michelangelo Buonarroti's iconic fresco, "The Last Judgment," located in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Michelangelo's masterpiece, painted between 1534 and 1541, is one of the most renowned works of the Renaissance period. The scene depicts the Day of Judgment, a biblical event where Christ separates the righteous from the damned. The fresco is famous for its grand scale, intricate detail, and the inclusion of nude figures, which were a departure from the traditional draped figures of the time. Joseph Guichard, a French artist, created this print as a study of one of the figures from Michelangelo's work. The print, which is in oil on paper, captures the muscular form and the sense of movement and energy that is characteristic of Michelangelo's figures. The use of color and brushwork in the print adds depth and texture, making it a captivating work of art in its own right. This print is a valuable addition to any collection of art, particularly those focusing on the Renaissance period, religious art, or the works of Michelangelo. It is a reminder of the rich artistic heritage that has been passed down through the centuries and continues to inspire and captivate audiences today. The print is currently housed in one of the Paris museums, adding to the city's impressive collection of art and cultural heritage. It is a testament to the enduring influence of Michelangelo's work and the skill of Joseph Guichard in capturing its essence in this beautiful study.
