FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This equestrian portrait captures the essence of Henry IV of France, a monarch whose reign marked a significant turning point in French history. Painted by Chevignard between 1882 and 1884, this print showcases the grandeur and power that defined Henry's rule during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Henry IV, also known as Henri IV or King Henry IV, was a man of great complexity. Born Protestant, he experienced firsthand the horrors of the French Wars of Religion before ascending to both the throne of Navarre in 1572 and eventually becoming King of France in 1594. In an effort to bring peace to his divided nation, Henry famously converted to Catholicism and signed the Edict of Nantes in 1598. This landmark decree granted religious freedoms to Protestants and effectively ended years of bloody conflict. Mounted on horseback with regal attire befitting his status as king, Henry exudes confidence and authority in this portrait. The artist skillfully captures every detail - from his majestic steed to his armor-clad body - emphasizing both his military prowess and commitment to protecting his country. As we gaze upon this remarkable image from La France et les Francais a Travers les Siecles, we are transported back in time; witnessing not only a moment frozen within history but also gaining insight into one man's determination for unity amidst religious strife. It serves as a powerful reminder that even amidst chaos, leaders can rise above division for the greater good.
