FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases Edward I, also known as Longshanks, in 1935. Renowned for his towering height of 6 feet 2 inches (1.88 m), he earned the moniker "Longshanks" and was famously referred to as the Hammer of the Scots. Edward I ruled England from 1272 until his passing in 1307, ascending to the throne after his father Henry II's demise. The image is part of a series called Kings & Queens of England - A Series of 50 by John Player & Sons, published in London during that era. It portrays Edward I with a majestic crown atop his head and an impressive beard adorning his face—a symbol of authority and power befitting a king. Edward's gaze looks away into the distance, perhaps contemplating matters pertaining to his kingdom or strategizing ways to maintain control over Britain. This portrait captures him at a moment when he held immense influence over medieval England. A significant historical figure, Edward Plantagenet played a crucial role in shaping British history during the thirteenth century. The photograph offers us a glimpse into this enigmatic monarch's persona—his regal stature and commanding presence are evident even through time. As we admire this remarkable piece from The Print Collector collection without commercial intent, it serves as both an artistic representation and historical documentation of one of Britain's most influential rulers.
