17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph, titled "Detroit Edison Company, Detroit, Mich.," was captured by renowned American photographer William H. Jackson between 1900 and 1910. The image presents a striking view of the Detroit Edison Power Plant located in Detroit, Michigan, during the early 20th century. The plant, with its imposing chimneys and industrial machinery, stands proudly on the waterfront, emitting plumes of smoke into the sky. The Detroit Edison Company, established in 1896, was a pioneer in the electrical power industry, providing electricity to the city of Detroit and its surrounding areas. The plant in this photograph showcases the company's commitment to progress and innovation during the industrial revolution. The photograph, taken as a dry plate negative on glass, captures the raw power and energy of the era. The image is a testament to the country's industrial heritage and the role Detroit played in shaping the United States' electrical power industry. The photograph also highlights the contrast between the pristine water and the industrial landscape, hinting at the environmental impact of the power plant. Edwin H. Husher, an employee of the Detroit Publishing Company, is believed to have taken this photograph for their extensive collection of images documenting American life during the early 1900s. The photograph is now part of the Library of Congress's collection, preserving a piece of American history for future generations to explore. This image is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of industry, technology, and the United States during the 1900s.
