17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Divan Japonais
EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating lithograph created by the renowned French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec between 1892 and 1893. This stunning piece, now housed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), showcases the vibrant and dynamic world of Montmartre, Paris in the late 19th century. The image transports us to the Divan Japonais, a popular cabaret and cafe located in Paris, Ile de France. The setting is filled with an eclectic mix of people, both men and women, entertained by the orchestra pit below. The post-impressionist style of Toulouse-Lautrec is evident in the bold use of color, with the print featuring a rich palette of yellow, red, green, and black. The artist's masterful use of lettering adds to the overall allure of the scene, with the name "Divan Japonais" prominently displayed in elegant script. The title "Divan Japonais" refers to the Japanese-style seating arrangements found in the venue, which were popular in Parisian cafes and cabarets of the time. This intriguing work of art offers a glimpse into the historic entertainment scene of Paris during the 1890s. The Divan Japonais was a place where people from all walks of life came together to enjoy music, dance, and each other's company. Toulouse-Lautrec's ability to capture the essence of this unique venue and the people who frequented it continues to captivate audiences today, making "Divan Japonais" a cherished piece of both French and art historical heritage.
